We're hiring for an Assistant Catering Manager

We are pleased to announce that we are looking for a new team member to become our first Assistant Catering Manager. This is a really key role and has excellent prospects for development to a senior leadership post in the future.

With an initial salary range (depending on experience) of £27,500-£30,000 and a very favoured shift pattern (at least for the hospitality industry) the successful candidate will become a member of the Employee Ownership trust and have an important say in helping shape the future for PJ taste. PJ taste is a leading catering and event company based in Attercliffe, Sheffield.

We run our own versatile venue catering to meetings, dining, and events for up to 120 people. However, most of our food and hospitality is delivered in our electric vans in Sheffield, South Yorkshire and Derbyshire.

 Role Description

 This Assistant Manager position is a new and key role with excellent opportunities to progress to a senior leadership position. 

It involves overseeing daily operations at PJ taste. Key responsibilities include managing staff, coordinating events, maintaining excellent customer service, and working with the kitchen team to ensure high standards in food quality and presentation. The Assistant Manager will also contribute to business development initiatives, developing profitability and the in overall administration of the business. 

Much of our business is delivered fo local corporate companies during office hours Monday to Friday. So core hours to work cover these times. However, we do cater evening events and family occasions such as weddings at weekends so flexibility across Monday to Saturday is required.

 Qualifications

Strong leadership and team management skills

Exceptional organisational and time management abilities

Experience in event coordination and operational logistics

Knowledge of food preparation, quality control, and health and safety standards

Proficiency in customer relationship management and communication

Adaptability, problem-solving capabilities, and a proactive approach

Prior experience in catering, food service, or hospitality management is advantageous

Education in hospitality management, business administration, or a related field is preferred
