I remember a visit I made to the smoke house and deli in September 2007 when John was kind enough to show me around. He did this with proud enthusiasm and warmth and after tasting and using his excellent products ever since I for one think this is a well desired award.

Located in the shadow of Bolsover Castle John uses the best local ingredients available
and adding his own skill produces premium smoked products. The redwood smoked salmon is a typical example – amazing flavour, colour and texture, but the range is extensive taking in a smoked Extra Virgin Olive Oil, excellent smoked cheese and real Kippers!. Exciting for foodies are John’s cured hams – the Hardwick air dried ham is an excellent product as good as most Parma Hams and made with local ingredients.
