Sheffield Business Awards 2021

We were proud to be asked to provide the catering and the service for this years Sheffield Business Awards. It was even more satisfying to be able to present a menu which truly represents our ethos of local sourcing, sustainability and partnering with other food producers in Sheffield, Derbyshire and South Yorkshire.

The three course dinner menu was provided for the 420 guests and typifies the unique approach of the business when given a brief by event organisers. This years Business Awards marked a new dawn as Unlimited and the Sheffield Chamber joined forces to create a new excitement and vibrancy around the event. The location was moved to the site of Peddlers Market in Sheffield’s Kelham island district and the organisers did an amazing job transforming the space into a winter wonderland.

Peter Moulam, one of the founding Directors, explains how the menu was developed:

“we treat each event as a one off striving to continuously improve every aspect of our food, service and our approach to sustainability. Increasingly we are using harvests from our own forest garden preserving them in a variety of ways to extend the season. This gives our team new skills but of course many of the techniques have been practised for centuries and we are re-discovering them to reduce our environmental impact.

For the Sheffield Business Awards we choose generous meat and vegetable sharing platters to start featuring our ever popular Sheffield Egg with amazing Eckington grown cherry tomatoes married with Yorkshire goats cheese, Wateralls Pork Pie, Casa Gomez Choriz and Hedgerow Preserves chutney.

The main course featured a BBQ Moss Valley Pork fillet and in keeping with our zero waste kitchen approach other cuts were incorporated in both the pork parcel and potato cake.

Our favourite cider from Woodthrope Hall found its way in the Cider Posset which was given crunch and texture by using our own grown Blenheim orange apples and foraged blackberries in the crumble topping.

We travel to venues all over Sheffield, South Yorkshire and NE Derbyshire as well as welcoming people to our own charming 120 seat meeting, dining and event space in Attercliffe.

Our offer extends from large scale fine dining dinners to employee reward lunches perhaps with a Street Food Theme with BBQ’s and wood fired pizza, breakfast meeting with innovative breakfast canapes, business buffet lunches, handmade cakes and quality locally roasted coffee.

We can supply to your own chosen venue or welcome you Upstairs@PJtaste in our Attercliffe meeting, dining and event space.

For local families we are established wedding caterers as well as extending our excellent service to many other family occasions.
